Galant is currently a Senior Engineer in the Water Reclamation Network Department of PUB, Singapore’s national water agency. The Department is responsible for the planning, developing, operating and maintaining the water reclamation network in Singapore. As a part of Network Management Branch, Galant is heading a unit which manages the issuance of Written Approval for trade effluent discharge and the enforcement efforts related to this.
Prior to returning to PUB in December 2010, Galant was with the International Water Association (IWA), East Asia & Pacific. As the Regional Manager, he managed IWA programmes in the region such as Non-Revenue Water and Water Operator Partnerships (WOPs). He also assumed the Secretariat functions of WaterLinks, a regional network of water services operators, practitioners and development partners that supports WOPs in the Asia-Pacific region, established in 2008 by Asian Development Bank (ADB), United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and IWA.
Before joining IWA in September 2009, Galant was an Engineer in the Water Supply Network Department of PUB. He led the planning, maintenance, servicing, and repair of water supply transmission and distribution network in the north-east area of Singapore.
Galant graduated with a Bachelor of Engineering (Chemical Engineering) from University of Surabaya, Indonesia in 2003 and completed his Master of Science (Environmental Engineering and Science) course in 2006 at Singapore Stanford Partnership, a joint programme between Nanyang Technological University (Singapore) and Stanford University (California, USA).
